I sort of stumbled into loving theatre by being a dancer. My modern dance class was tapped to perform in The Wizard of Oz, and once I got on stage, I've never wanted to leave.

At my tiny liberal arts college, I double-majored in Theatre and English Literature. We were taught to be well rounded artists, so I not only act and dance; I write, direct, choreograph, hang and focus lights and sew, I'm a bad-ass with a nail gun and leatherman, a stage-management nazi, also a decent poet and a widely acknowledged Book Whore. Seriously: fiction, biography, fantasy, history, sci-fi... pretty much as long as it tells a good story, I have or will read it.

After school, I acted and organized for four years for 88improv. Based in Omaha, NE, 88improv performs all over the country, doing honest, groundbreaking improv. I learned so much from them about humor and teamwork. It was also while working for them that I met and married my husband. Win win!

Overall, I'm the one you call for some sarcasm or when someone needs to be seriously mocked, but on stage I can play anyone. Some of my favorite performances have been A Midsummer Nights Dream, Galileo, Romeo and Juliet and The Women of Troy. I love theatre because it allows me to bring those stories to life, to experience situations and meet people that I probably never will in my lifetime.
